Class Date: December 1st teleseminar with recording available if you can't join us "live"
Good for you! That's what this cleanse is.
Interest in the Autumn Cleanse has certainly been percolating! We're hoping that you'll join us too. This is a real chance for purification and detoxification. As usual, what that means will be slightly different for each of you. We'll help you find the cleansing level appropriate for your body, your health situation, your desires, and your lifestyle. The particulars for those options will be explained in detail in the Saturday morning teleseminar, but we'll sketch them out for you here.

How is an autumn cleanse different from cleanses during other seasons?
Your body is governed by nature. Winter is a time of storing. Spring is the time of releasing. Summer is the time to purify and build. And autumn is a time of releasing. You can spend the time building the power and potential of two of your major detox organs ~ the colon and the skin ~ while retreating into a place of warmth and release. This helps you to prepare for the hectic season ahead. To harness the natural rhythms of autumn, you can engage in a seasonal cleanse to quiet your dietary input, lighten the load on your internal organs and release built up accumulation~particularly in your colon and skin~and welcome the internal glow of the season.
Will I be eating, or only drinking?
This is a week-long cleanse for a colder season.
There will be eating AND drinking ~ soups, stews, steamed veggies, smoothies, and tea elixirs. Common allergens and inflammatory foods, such as gluten, dairy, and sugar, will be removed to jump-start your body's healing power. You need to heat, nourish & fuel your body for the season.
We'll show you how you can cleanse, have delicious food, and stoke your body's flames at the same time.
"I feel so much more peaceful and connected to ME."
I bought a thermos and filled it with the winter veggie soup to take with me to an all-day meeting in Seattle yesterday and that worked great. I'm eating yummy salads for dinner. I have lost several pounds, which makes me thrilled and I'm managing a full work day and playing soccer at night. I am excited to feel this good. I feel so much more peaceful and connected to ME. A big thank you to Andrea and Andrea for this great new journey in my life. Yippee Skippee!

"It's so good to know that we can actually make room for ourselves and our needs every now and then."
Will there be special ingredients required for the cleanse?
As is always the case with TrulyFood cleanses, this is a whole-foods, plant-based cleanse. You'll have specific guidelines on how and what to eat and drink. And you'll eliminate animal protein for the week. Don't worry! You can do this. We'll support you every step of the way and it's just one week. It's the best way to support the elimination of built-up waste and regenerate your immune system for the season and year ahead.
You can buy everything you need at the farmer's market and your health food store of choice.
That said, there will be some superfoods, herbs and supplements that are recommended but not required. These are included in the cleanse protocol to support your energy level throughout the cleanse while maximizing its benefits of purification and elimination. We've set up an online store that you can either use as a shopping list in your preparations (going to your local health food store or co-op) or where you can purchase the ingredients directly on-line. You'll receive the link to that store when you sign-up to reserve your seat!
What's the final cost of the cleanse?
The final cost of the cleanse, besides the price of $147 for the program, are the expenses of your groceries as well as any additional detoxification tools that we recommend and you choose to purchase. Cost depends on your budgetary considerations and your cleansing goals. All options provide a complete and efficient cleansing experience.
Will the cleanse require extra prep time?
This is a great question. If you don't need to prepare food for anyone but yourself, NO. It won't take any extra time than usual food prep takes ~ likely even less since the recipes included are simple to prepare.
However, if you have to prepare food for anyone other than yourself, then YES. You might be making separate meals for yourself for the week ~ though many of the recipes are family friendly. There might be more chopping of vegetables than you are accustomed to, so clear the counter for your biggest cutting board and sharpen your knives!
One way to make it easier is to get a friend or neighbor to sign-up with you. This way you can trade off food preparation each day. Every other day one of you can prepare dinner for your two families. On that same night, the other prepares the cleanse meal. Enlisting your friends and neighbors is a great way to receive additional support during your cleanse!
"I was worried that I would be hungry all the time, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I feel very satiated and in fact can't even finish some meals."
I am a girl who LOVES to eat. I also like big portions (I eat the same portions as my 220 lb husband!) and belong to The Clean Plate Club. This may have been cute in my 20s, but has caught up with me in my 30s, which is why a week of mindful eating really appealed to me. I was worried that I would be hungry all the time, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I feel very satiated and in fact can't even finish some meals. Granted, the fact that I don't do caffeine and I already eat a mostly vegetarian diet may have helped with the transition, but I still had to wave b-bye to a highly carb, cheese and wine filled existence. Andreas, this can clearly be attributed to the wonderful protocol and delicious fiber-rich recipes you have designed to nourish, satisfy and delight us. Thank you so much for making this opportunity available to us and for providing a community support forum in order to guide and deepen our experiences. Time to write a book, ladies!

Can I cleanse while working?
Absolutely.
Of course, if it's possible to slow life down a bit that week, that would be ideal (but not necessary). Make less commitments, try to get more quiet time, get to bed early, take your work-out routine down a notch or two, and get outside. Most importantly, engage the help of partners, friends, neighbors, and children to help you through the week.
Both of us are busy working moms. We've cleansed through all sorts of hectic weeks. We're hopeful that our preparation techniques help to get you through your schedule challenges.
Can I cleanse while training for a marathon, half-marathon, or triathalon?
Depending on your training schedule and the date of your event. . . Yes. One of us is an endurance athlete and the other works with many. We can help you navigate the particulars of your training schedule to accommodate the cleanse. Ultimately you'll be in better shape to perform!
Can I cleanse while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We have many nursing moms join us for our cleanses and this is a perfect one for you to do. Andrea N will address your needs during the class and on the message board throughout the week. Be sure to let her know of your situation.
If you're pregnant, please email Andrea N in the process of making the decision so that she can help you based on your unique situation.
Will I take my usual herbs, vitamins, and supplements during the cleanse?
This really depends on what you're taking and why. We'll address this in more detail during the class.
Pharmaceuticals prescribed by your doctor remain a constant while cleansing.
What kind of equipment will I need?
~ blender
~ nut mylk bag (If you don't already own one, you can get them at People's Food Co-Op, Mirador on Division and 20th in PDX or order now from the TrulyFood Autumn Cleanse store that we've set up for you.
"I proved to myself that I can actually find the discipline to avoid sugar (my biggest vice)!"
While I would honestly really like a crunchy starchy large hunk of artisan bread with mounds of cheese, I have to say that holding off on that stuff during the week of the cleanse has been very powerful for me. I've felt good, explored new markets, explored all new recipes and proved to myself that I can actually find the discipline to avoid sugar (my biggest vice). I feel proud of what we all have been able to do to devote time and energy to caring for ourselves. And I feel empowered to bring more yummy vegetable based alternatives into my household, which includes a very carnivorous husband! As someone used to taking care of everyone else's food needs, it's been a refreshing week of everyone else watching me take care of my nutritional needs, and curiously dabbling in my cuisine. Thanks for all the support!
~ Heather K.
How will I know what to do?
We'll give you the step-by-step, day-by-day game plan for the entire protocol. You'll leave the teleclass with a comprehensive packet that specifies exactly what to do.
How will I get your support through the process?
By signing up for the cleanse you'll have immediate access to our message board. We check the message board daily and are there to answer your questions and help you navigate the protocol and any experiences you're having. The rest of the cleansing community is also there. The very best thing is that while Retreating, you're never alone unless you want to be.
When's the class?
Saturday
December 1st
9am PT/ 12pm ET
teleseminar (recording available if you cannot attend "live")
What if I can't attend the online class at that time?
(My schedule doesn't allow, I'll be in Paris, I live in Wyoming, etc.)
No problem. There will be a recording of the class available for everyone who purchases the cleanse. This also allows you to do the cleanse at another time, if the scheduled time doesn't work with your schedule. (If possible, join us on schedule to receive maximum daily support.)
OK. I'm in!
Can I do this cleanse? I've never cleansed before!
Yes, you can! Almost everyone can. This cleanse is not designed to be hard on your body, in fact it's meant to ease the burdens we put on our bodies daily and over time. It's designed to:
- provide the digestive system with a rest from hard to digest foods
- use fiber-rich foods and herbs to help remove toxins from the body
- afford your entire system a necessary break from dealing with the difficult to digest fats
- reduce the toxic load
- abate cravings
- increase nutrients through beneficial and nutritious food intake
- set the reset button for your body to do its job faster and better
And how about:
- get you more compliments on how healthy you look
- enjoy delicious recipes that are easy to prepare and will become a part of your recipe toolbox
- allow you to fit more easily into your Thanksgiving attire
- enable you to feel clear-headed and able to tackle the hectic holiday schedule
There's enough variation in the protocol to make it work for you.
This is the most nourishing seasonal gift to give yourself.
